This book examines the response of the United Nations to forced displacement, using the examples of Bosnia, Rwanda and Guatemala. Through the inclusion of critical empirical data, feminist propositions and experiences contextualised by these case studies, the book examines two processes of global transformation in the post-Cold War era. This includes new humanitarian practices and principles, and the emergence of gender equality norms in the refugee regime.
