The potential impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on girls’ education are numerous and diverse, including many schools around the world remaining closed and thus affecting girls’ education directly. To gage the potential gendered impacts of COVID-19, the blog draws on data from previous pandemics and initial findings from ongoing COVID-19 studies. While the post is focused on girls’ education, the blog also captures the unique obstacles faced by boys during a pandemic.
