This article describes the extraordinary routine of the Paracatu de Baixo community in Brasil following the break of the Fundão’stailings dam. The community was relocated from the countryside to a municipal headquarters. The author describes how the lives of the affected community has changed and the strategies individuals employ to cope with time dissociated from their homeland.
