A short article that stresses the imperative to understand and respond to the reproductive health needs of people affected by disasters. Drawing on the case of the 2004 Tsunami that struck the Indian Ocean, the analysis focuses on pregnancy and motherhood, gynaecological care, family planning, sexually transmitted infections and HIV/AIDS, and adolescent reproductive health, gender-based violence and poor access to care.
