This paper addresses the gender bias in research on refugees, focusing mainly on the lack of research on refugee men and how that would impact future refugee interventions. The authors state the importance of sex and gender considerations when studying the risks to health and wellbeing of refugee men and women, as they may require different services due to the ways that trauma can manifest differently. The article finds that 95% of the refugee research since 1988 focused exclusively on refugee women's issues and discusses the implications for research and practice.
